Hillside CrossFit Athletes Complete Epic Swim to Raise Money

Emma, EJ, and Diane from Hillside CrossFit undertook this enormous challenge to raise money to sponsor ROAR school programs in their local community. No one asked them to. This was completely their idea. That's just the kind of people they are.
They took turns swimming continuously for 24 hours because they wanted to raise awareness about youth mental health. They wanted to show what they've learned through their training; that exercise, a positive mindset, and connection to community are the pathways to better wellbeing.
They braved hail, lightning, and hypothermia. They were pulled out of the pool three times because of lightning due to a sudden and unexpected storm but they simply extended their finish time. were They were unstoppable. Their goal was to raise enough money to run a ROAR school intervention program, which costs $5300. They raised enough money to fund two school programs, and to sponsor 13 athletes in our after school programs, who would not be able to participate otherwise.
What they did was incredible and incredibly hard.
What they have done is life-altering.
Thank you Emma, EJ, and Diane.
We love you very much.
This is the power of community.
This is how we make the world better.
