The 24HR Swim is BACK!
THEY'RE DOING IT AGAIN!! ROAR Inc are delighted to announce that Emma, Di, and Connie from Hillside CrossFit are undertaking the non-stop 24-Hour Swim to raise funds for ROAR Inc... and rumour has it that they will be competing against another team to see who can raise the most money!!
Emma, EJ, and Di undertook this enormous challenge last year and smashed it! No one asked them to. This was completely their idea. That's just the kind of people they are. They took turns swimming continuously for 24 hours because they wanted to raise awareness about youth mental health. They wanted to show what they've learned through their training; that exercise, a positive mindset, and connection to community are the pathways to better wellbeing.
They braved hail, lightning, and hypothermia. They were pulled out of the pool three times because of lightning due to a sudden and unexpected storm but they were unstoppable. Their goal was to raise enough money to run a ROAR school intervention program, which costs $5300. They raised enough money to fund two school programs, and to sponsor 13 athletes in our after school programs. What they did was incredible and incredibly hard. What they did was life-altering.
THIS YEAR THEY WANT TO RAISE MORE AND THERE ARE A COUPLE OF WAYS IN WHICH YOU CAN HELP:
