You
can make a difference to a mistreated animal's life.
The Last Chance Club animals are mostly ex-cruelty
case animals, whose owners have been prosecuted for
neglect or cruel treatment. Many have been through severe
ordeals.
These
animals are available for adoption. Because
they are special animals, they often come with special
needs (these are listed for each animal).
The
Last Chance Club animals have been given a second
chance at life by the RSPCA. They need good
homes and special owners, who understand their plight,
and can see past their problems and give them a future,
a last chance.
Most
of The Last Chance Club animals are at our Yagoona
Shelter in south-western Sydney, unless otherwise indicated.
They can be visited at Yagoona Shelter.

February 2005 |
| Breed: |
Cattle
X |
| Sex: |
Male |
| Size: |
Medium |
| Location: |
Kempsey |
| Information: |
Blake
first came to the Kempsey RSPCA as a puppy in
2005 as the victim of a hit and run. Like many
of the hit and run victims that come to the
RSPCA, it was a number of days before a concerned
individual alerted us to Blake's plight and
he was provided with veterinary treatment. Blake
underwent surgery to remove the head of the
femur in his rear right leg which had been fractured
in his accident.
After
making a full recovery, Blake found a new home,
however due to their lifestyle, his new family
were unable to meet Blake's exercise requirements
and he was recently re-surrendered. Blake is
now looking for his FOREVER home.
A
truly lovable lad, Blake has a extremely friendly,
playful, outgoing personality ... and adores
people and attention. Like all young dogs, he
has lots of energy and loves to run and play
with his doggie friends. Consequently, Blake
has excellent social skills with other canines
and would make a wonderful companion to another
playful pooch.
He
is house-trained, loves going for walks, rides
in the car and hang out around the house, so
he would be equally suited to a sole-animal
household provided his exercise needs were met
(minimum 45 minute walk per day required).
NOTE: Blake is not suitable for a home with
cats. He is also terrified of storms and needs
to be confined inside during these occurences.

February 2007 |
| Breed: |
German
Shepherd x Rotti |
| Sex: |
Male |
| Size: |

| Location: |
Kempsey |
| Information: |
Jed came to the Kempsey RSPCA
as a pound puppy. He was originally picked up
on the road, with no microchip or ID, by a Kempsey
RSPCA member. Being a beautiful boy, we held
him for 24 hours confident someone would come
looking for him. They didnt! So as required
under the Companion Animals Act, Jed was sent
to the local pound as a public stray to 'do
his time'. 7 days later, Jed's time had run
out.
How anyone could 'abandon' this
beautiful brown eyed boy is impossible to fathom
... we certainly couldnt! Behind the mischievous
eyes and the cheeky grin, Jed is simply the
kindest, gentlest, most lovable lad you could
find. A BIG puppy with a big heart, Jed is a
soft, smoochie boy who loves to give and get
affection.
Due to his gentle nature, Jed
has excellent social skills with other animals
(both 2 and 4 legged) ... and like all puppies
(regardless of size) he loves to play. Consequently,
he would make a wonderful companion to another
canine.
Jed has commenced his obedience
and house-training, and would be a wonderful
addition to any (sole animal included) loving
home prepared to continue his puppy pre-schooling
and meet his longer term exercise and companionship
needs.
Jed is obedient, well-mannered
and house-trained. He would be a wonderful addition
to any (sole animal included) loving home prepared
to give him lots of cuddles/companionship and
a place on the couch. Please contact Marguerite
at Kempsey RSPCA on (02) 6562 1554.

I will suit a
loving, fit active family who are looking for
an affectionate happy bouncy dog with loads
of personality. I need a family who is committed
to ongoing daily obedience training and socialisation
with different dogs & people. I can not go home
with kids under 12 years as I can be very boisterous
and charge about in play. I am quite strong
on lead also. It is recommended I do not go
to a home with cats but if we are kept seperate
it should be ok. I need an experienced owner
who will do lots of work with me.

of daily obedience training. I can be timid
and anxious when I first meet people and I'm
worried when people reach over my head. I will
need a fit active.I am a working breed and have
a huge reserve of energy I need to burn. I will
need twice daily walks, plus active play time
chasing the tennis ball, soccer balls & I love
soft toys. For those times when you have to
go out & I'm home alone then you will need to
give me treat balls and other toys that will
help to keep me mentally stimulated. I love
meeting new doggy friends. I am excitable social
& very playful & enjoy a rumble. If I am to
go to a home with a doggy friend it is important
that you bring them into the shelter first so
we can meet before you make you final decision.

confident around dogs, sensible and gentle then
bring them into the shelter to meet with me

Lotti came to the Kempsey RSPCA
after being surrendered by her previous owner
as 1 of an unwanted litter.
Lotti is a gorgeous girl with
a friendly, outgoing personality and a very
gentle soul. She has an incredibly affectionate
nature ... so if you dont like licky dogs, then
Lotti is definitely not the girl for you! Whilst
hanging out with the humans is high of her list
of priorities, playing with her puppy/pooch
pals is also a favourite past-time ... and due
to her sweet nature, Lotti has excellent social

I am a quiet
and timid girl who needs to go to a quiet calm
home with a routine environment. I am very people
orientated and would need to go to a home where
I could be both an inside and outside dog. I
will require solid 5 ft fencing made from either
pailings or coloubond with no footholds for
me to climb on. There should be no gaps or holes
for me to escape from. I love to be around people
so when you are at home I would love to be where
you are. I will need you to spend time walking
me, playing with me and just hanging out with
me either outside or in the house with you.I
can be a little unsure with overhead movements
and a little timid + submssive at times therefore
I can not go to a home with children under 8.
If you do have children over 8 please bring
them into the shelter to meet me before making
your final decision. I would prefer to be the
only dog at home as I am not very social with
other dogs here in the shelter. If you do have
a dog at home please bring them in to meet me
before taking me home. I also can not go to

first, especially when meeting new large dogs.
He needs someone who has the time to take him
to group training, and help him gain confidence.
He must meet any dogs of the household before
going to live with them. He needs a calm home
where the people are experienced with dogs.
He needs to go home with a family that do not
have any children under the age of 10 years.
He came to the shelter with his sister Joy so
if you are interested in 2 dogs, then please

Baby Bear |

02
June 2005 |
| Breed: |
Labrador x Ridegback |
| Sex: |
Male |
| Size: |
Large |
| Location: |
Kempsey |
| Information: |
Baby Bear came to the Kempsey
RSPCA after being removed from his previous
owner due to malnourishment and neglect as a
puppy. But whilst the bad start initially left
him small in stature (hence his name) ... time,
tucker and TLC has seen Baby Bear grown into
a big, beautiful boy. Baby Bear can be summed
up in two words ... adorable and exuberant!
He has an incredibly affectionate
nature and a pure joy for life ... he basically
loves everyone and everything ... and is particularly
partial to 'bear-hugging' his 2 legged foster
mum. He also adores the company of other pooches
and playing with them is definitely one of his
greatest pleasures in life. As such, he is highly
suited to a home where he will not only receive
oodles of love and attention, but one where
he will have the enjoyment and companionship
of a 4 legged friend.
He would be equally suited
to a sole animal household looking for a lovable
lad to share their love, lounge and life with.
Baby Bear is house-trained and has commenced
his obedience training, however will benefit
from continued training with a new owner.
NOTE: Due to his exuberance,
Baby Bear is currently not suited to a home
with small children ... he only wants to play
but he's too big and boofy :)
Baby Bear comes immunised,
desexed and microchipped with an annual heartworm
injection for $220. Please contact Marguerite
at Kempsey RSPCA on (02) 6562 1554.

Name: |
Rosie |
| D.O.B: |
04
April 2006 |
| Breed: |
Sharpei X |
| Sex: |
Female |
| Size: |
Medium |
| Location: |
Kempsey |
| Information: |
Rosie came to the Kempsey RSPCA
as an injured stray. Once in care, she required
treatment for a leg injury (relatively minor
- just sore and swollen) and also had entropian
surgery on both her eyes. Where she came from,
how she received her leg injury and why she
wasnt claimed is unknown. What we do know about
Rosie is ... she's absolutely adorable!
A little dog with a BIG personality.
Rosie adores people and craves attention (she
loves to be kissed, cuddled and generally 'fussed'
over) ... and quite simply, just loves to loved.
Whilst she plays and interacts well with other
dogs, Rosie's passion is people. As such, Rosie
longs for a home where she will be the centre
of attention and get all the love and attention
she deserves (and craves). She is a true canine
companion and as such, is highly suited to an
older single person or couple looking for a
devoted little dog to be their constant companion.
Rosie is house-trained however
needs inside/outside access ie. dog-door/open-door.
NOTE: We suspect that Rosie
has been abused in the past, as she will cringe
and wee herself in certain situations, primarily
when meeting some strangers (usually men) and
if there is yelling/raised/harsh voices (once
again usually male) in immediate proximity to
her. However, with those she knows and loves,
she is every bit as cheeky as her picture indicates
:)
Rosie comes immunised, desexed
and microchipped with an annual heartworm injection
for $220. Please contact Marguerite at Kempsey
RSPCA on (02) 6562 1554.
